After having helped consult with the InCommon web app, we needed to design and launch the companion app. Most of the function, structure, and flow of the InCommon mobile app matches 1:1 with the work we did for the desktop web experience. This project was largely just to make sure the Information Architecture and functionality of the Web Experience is effectively translated to the mobile context.
This is the journey of designing the mobile companion app for "The Commons" by InCommon, the first AI-powered application tailored to foster deep connections within the workplace. As a product aimed at enhancing employee productivity, engagement, and retention, The Commons presented unique challenges and opportunities for mobile UX design. The app needed to be a seamless extension of the desktop application, offering instant and intuitive connection tools, robust networking features, and personalized interaction capabilities right from the palm of your hand.
